Sarah Grattan - Yoga, Reiki, Somatic Coaching & Hypnotherapy in Canterbury Yoga Health and Wellness®

Hi, I'm Sarah and welcome to my website!

One of my founding beliefs for my work is that health and well-being are our natural “human” state and the “being” part of us comes when the human has been nurtured and loved.

Having traversed the globe, from lush jungles to serene beaches, I've delved into multiple therapeutic modalities, allowing each experience to undergo a profound alchemy within me. As a result, I approach teaching and coaching from a deeply experiential standpoint rather than a textbook perspective.

Drawing upon my extensive travels and diverse studies, I'm passionate about guiding others on transformative journeys rooted in authentic, firsthand knowledge. My aim is to empower individuals to embrace holistic wellness and self-discovery, fostering lasting change from within.

How it all started...

I used to work in a bank.

One of my founding beliefs is that health and wellbeing are our natural human state. The "being" part of us arrives when the human has been nurtured, loved, and given space to settle.

My journey into holistic wellness began in 1992 at the age of 17 when I attended my first yoga class. I was captivated by the fluidity of movement my body experienced and the moments of profound stillness that followed each posture. At the same time I became aware of the chaos of my breath, the tightness of my muscles and the incessant chatter of my mind, and yet underneath all of that I discovered a deep inner stillness that resonated with my soul. That class ignited a spark, fuelling a passion to go deeper.

Before all of this I worked in banking. My thinking was harder then, my edges sharper. It was travel that began to change that. Moving through different countries, cultures and communities, sitting with people whose lives looked nothing like mine, I found something softening in me that I hadn't known was rigid. Each place peeled back another layer.

Over the years I danced on beaches, walked with swamis in ashrams, followed curiosity wherever it led, and let each experience quietly reshape me. It was less a plan and more a following, of what felt true, of what my own body was trying to tell me.

That wandering eventually became a practice, and the practice became a calling.

Today I work at the intersection of somatic coaching, clinical hypnotherapy, NLP, Reiki and shamanic healing. Not as separate things on a menu, but as one integrated approach shaped around the person in front of me. Over the last few years the work has deepened in ways I didn't expect. Each new training added a layer of precision to what was already intuitive. I can now work with the body and the mind and the patterns underneath both.

That combination changes things in ways that still surprise me.

Client Transformations

Hi Sarah, just about to fly back to work so wanted to drop you a quick message saying thank you so much for everything you did. I haven’t felt this way in so long. I know you have put a lot of time into training to help people and I really appreciate it. I haven’t felt anxious once since you treated me and I am always anxious!! Thank you and I’ll see you in March.

F, Canterbury

Without any doubt, Sarah has pure magic within her heart and her hands. For many years I have attended Sarah’s yoga classes and I can not recommend her highly enough. Sarah’s voice alone can render the most stressed person into deep relaxation and the knowledge she imparts during the classes make it fun and informative.

– Liz, Leigh-on-Sea

I have been totally exhilarated by my one to one sessions with Sarah. Her knowledge and ability to work on an individual basis is both inspiring and eye opening. I have complete confidence in her and have found the changes that she has suggested to my diet to have improved both my energy levels and my health. This has been confirmed by my latest visit to hospital. Thank you Sarah.
