Calm isn’t something you “find.” It’s something you build.

When your nervous system is running on fumes, no amount of lavender sprays or

meditation apps will cut it. You need a map.

Have you ever sat on the edge of your bed and cried, with no idea why?
Whispered, “WTF is this now?” and kept going anyway?

I wasn’t new to healing. I’d been teaching yoga and meditation since 2004.
A Reiki Master since 2002. Trained in naturopathic nutrition, Thai Yoga Massage and now trauma-informed somatics, NLP, hypnotherapy. Two decades of tools — and still my body said
no more.

Perimenopause crept in like mist. Anxiety got louder. My system felt overdrawn.
People told me to relax more. Breathe more. I already did.

But breathing alone doesn’t rewire a nervous system that’s been carrying a whole life on empty.

That was the moment it landed for me: calm isn’t a luxury at the end of the day.
It’s the infrastructure underneath it.

I didn’t set out to write a book. I set out to function.

I didn’t set out to write a book. I set out to function — as a self-employed single mama of two, with one shoulder carrying far more than its share some days, and a heart that refused to abandon itself.

When the noise got too loud, I stopped outsourcing my sanity and started listening to my body.

Not the internet. Not the latest hack.

What came was a compass — simple, somatic, doable… even on a real Tuesday afternoon. A compass that steadies you before the next wave hits.

“The body is not a problem to be solved. It’s a story to be listened to.” — Dr Gabor Maté

Most people think calm is something you do at the end of the day.

Most people think calm is a treat you give yourself once the day is over. A bath, a glass of wine, ten minutes of meditation.

But that’s why it slips. Because if your system never refuels, the calm you create at 9pm won’t be there at 9am.

Your Calm Compass is different. It’s not about adding more to your to-do list — it’s about changing the order of things. Practical, somatic tools that refuel you first, so steadiness becomes your baseline, not your bonus.

“Awareness precedes change.” — Robin Sharma

This is the map I wish I’d had when I needed it most.

I wrote Your Calm Compass because nothing else out there spoke to what I was really living.

Not the Instagram quotes. Not the endless advice. I needed something real, practical, doable

with two children and a body that wouldn’t bounce back.

This book is that map.

A steady voice when everything else feels too much.
A way back to yourself, one gentle step at a time.

If you’re tired, this is for you.
If the smallest thing tips you over, this is for you.
If you want a body that holds steady while life keeps moving — this is for you.

There's no rush. Just start with one page, one practice, one moment of calm. The rest will follow.
